Fake Tagores
The high court on Friday disposed of the PIL related to the exhibition of fake Tagore paintings after Kaushik Chanda, the lawyer for petitioner Tapas Sarkar, submitted that the purpose of filing the case had been served. “My client wanted to prove that the paintings on display were not by Tagore. He has been proved right.... Since a criminal case has been initiated in a subordinate court, the high court can dispose of the PIL,” Chanda submitted before a division bench.
Clarification
The report “MSO dues pause Sachin play, viewers stumped”, published in Metro on December 6, quoted a Manthan source as saying the multi-system cable operator owed Rs 21 crore to a broadcaster. The figure was provided by an industry source who has nothing to do with Manthan. The error is regretted. |
