Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday said his party supports the reservation for promotion of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe employees.
He said the state government has already implemented the reservation after reading the guidelines of the Supreme Court ruling.
Conference
Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi will leave for New Delhi to take part in the National Industrial and Commercial conference on Saturday. The conference is being organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries, New Delhi. The event will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee.
New board
Patna: The mines and geology department on Friday issued a notice that Jhar Bihar Colliery Limited’s new board of directors has been constituted. The board includes mines and geology department principal secretary K.P. Ramaiah, Bihar State Mineral Development Limited director Nirmal Chandra Jha and industries department director Shailesh Thakur.
Vendor event
Patna: The urban development and housing minister Prem Kumar on Friday met members of various vendor association from 25 states at a function organised by National Association for Street Vendor of India in New Delhi. Prem said the Bihar Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Trade) Bill, 2011, would ensure protection of livelihood of street vendors and regulate trade in the cities.

Patna: Bihar Education Project, Integrated Child Development Scheme and Unicef on Friday distributed material on schemes for education, development and empowerment of children at Vaishali.
