In the girls’ outfit, names include Priyanka Kumari, Supriya Kumari, Nidhi Kumari, Puja Sundi, Pinky Hembrom, Balika Baskey, Sowary Kumari, Kapra Soren, Sumita Kumari, Nirula Singh, Amrita Kumari and Neha Singh.

Priyanka will captain the girls’ team.

“We have picked the team members after a three-day selection trial held last week at JRD Tata Sports Complex. The chosen boys and girls have immense promise as spikers. They are fast movers and hard hitters across the net. We expect them to come good in the state meet,” said Sunil Kumar Rai, joint secretary of the district association.

Chinmaya Mohanty will accompany the district squads as coach-cum-manager.

The teams will leave for Ramgarh on Wednesday by bus.

Rai added that selection trial to pick the senior district outfits would be conducted at JRD Tata Sports Complex on December 13. “We are sending our senior players for the state championship in Godda from December 19 to 23,” he said.
