Parents are looking forward to January, less to welcome the new year and more to seal the academic future of their wards.
Most schools will distribute registration forms for the 2013-14 session in January.
Kankerbagh resident Mamta Sinha wants to admit her daughter in a Plus Two school so that few years later, she does not have to worry about looking for a new institution for her little one.
“I want to admit my daughter in a school which will not only provide quality education but will also ensure education up to Class XII. Our city has few such schools and I am quite eager to get her admitted to a Plus Two institution. For this, I have ensured that my daughter prepares well,” said Mamta.
Her daughter is eligible for admission to Lower Kindergarten (LKG).
Late January, Notre Dame Academy will come out with registration forms.
Principal Sister Mary Tessy said: “We are planning to make forms for Montessori I available in the last week of January.”
Mary Ward Kindergarten, a wing of St Joseph’s Convent High School, has set January 5 as the date for distributing registration forms for LKG.
At Don Bosco Academy too, forms would be available in the third week of January for LKG.
Loyola High School’s Montessori wing — Montfort Montessori Home — would announce dates for distributing registration forms after January 15.
While schools of the DAV Group would start giving out forms for LKG and higher classes from December 14, DAV, BSEB, has decided to only admit children of employees of the state electricity board.
DAV, BSEB, principal Ramanuj Prasad said: “Other students can take admission at DAV Indrapuri (a new wing of the DAV Group) this time. Admission can be taken in any class from LKG to Class VI after which the students would be shifted to this wing. Registration forms for the Indrapuri wing are available.”
