Dupe arrests

Patna: Special task force personnel oxn Tuesday picked up five persons from Rajapur under Buddha Colony police station on the charges of duping people of offering them jobs in government organisations. enior police officers said the five — identified as Jayant Kant Kumar (Rajabazar), Abhishek (Naubatpur), Rupesh Kumar (Naubatpur), Dharmendra Kumar (Sheikhpura) and Ranjan Kumar (Rajabazar) — used to advertise vacancies in newspapers and extort the applicants.

Jail for graft

Patna: Special vigilance judge R.C. Singh on Tuesday sent former Kathiar block agriculture officer Ram Bachan Singh to one-year rigorous imprisonment in connection with a bribery case.

Body found

Gopalganj: The body of one Tunna Prasad (20), son of ward councillor Shobha Devi of Larauri village under Sidhwalia police station in Gopalganj district, was found by the police at Pachrukhi in Siwan district on Tuesday.
