Pension dues plea with Centre

Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi today said Bihar would request the Centre to cut on grants to Jharkhand for clearing pension dues.

“The Union ministry of home affairs order directing Jharkhand government to make payment to Bihar on account of pension stands today. Even the Supreme Court has refused to stay the ministry’s order and Jharkhand government has withdrawn its petition from the apex court. Now, we will urge the Centre to make payment of the pension amount to Bihar by deducting from Jharkhand’s share of central funds,” Modi said.

Modi was replying to a query on the status of payment issue of Rs 2,584.09 crore to Bihar by Jharkhand on account of expenditure incurred on payment of pension and other retirement benefits to the government employees.
