Kokrajhar, Dec. 10: A businessman, Birendra Bhakat, was seriously injured when unidentified gunmen fired at him at Kachuagon Bazar under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district today.
Sources said two persons on a bike came at the grocery shop owned by Bhakat and shot at him around 1.15pm today. He was hit in the abdomen.
Police suspect it to be a case of extortion.
