At home with Shrabanti

Tollywood’s popular director-actress couple — Rajib and Shrabanti — have got themselves a new pad in Parnasree, Behala. Supervising the finishing touches to the decor, Shrabanti took t2 on a tour of her cosy nook that looks vibrant with splashes of turquoise and wood. “This is my dream home. I have done it up with a lot of love and care,” she smiled, making the most of her me-time with a magazine on the couch. “I’m not at all the serious type who reads only books at home. I’m very chulbuli and bubbly, and I like to read gossip magazines,” she smiled some more. Guess what her pet name is? Ghitku!

1. I’m a heroine to the core, minus the tantrums! I spend hours in front of the mirror. But I hate combing my hair because I dread hairfall! At times Rajib gets tired because I’m always admiring myself in the mirror. That’s why I want to have a daughter some day... I want her to look exactly like me!

2. Watching TV is my favourite pastime. I laugh, I cry, I suddenly stand up and start dancing. I do all kinds of crazy stuff while watching TV. Sometimes when I cry, my son Jhinuk (8) tells me, ‘Ma, eta cinema Ma!”

3. When I am back from work and finally done with the house chores, I sit down with the phone to catch up with my parents, friends and elder sister Shibani. I spend long hours on the phone, sometimes till late into the night.

4. I think my mother is the most beautiful woman on earth. I love cuddling up to her. Baba was very handsome when he was young and lots of women would fall for him. Ma is still crazily in love with him!

From machher jhol to mutton curry, I love to cook yummy dishes for my family on my off-days. Rajib loves mutton curry... but I can’t have as much mutton as I would like to. I have a tendency to put on weight very quickly and on Sundays when we have lunch, Rajib and Jhinuk dig into mutton curry while I sit staring at them, green with envy!
