Skits steal fest show on Day III

Quiz, skit, elocution, debate, poster-making, mimicry and mime competitions marked the third day of the 28th East Zone Inter-university Youth Festival being held at Hotwar, Ranchi.

The five-day event, which commenced on December 7, is being organised by Ranchi University under the aegis of The Association of Indian Universities and sponsored by the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports. Over 500 students from 14 universities are taking part.

The short play contest was a huge hit with participation from 13 universities. Eleven universities locked horns in elocution, while 12 vied for honours in rangoli while the debate on “Evil influence of western culture on India” drew students from 10 universities.

Monday has been set aside for cartoon, group song, western vocal and folk music. A folk orchestra will take over in the evening.
