Siliguri, Dec. 5: Trinamul councillors of Siliguri Municipal Corporation will meet chief minister Mamata Banerjee in Calcutta this month to apprise her of the situation at the civic body and ask for guidelines.

Krishna Pal, secretary general of the party’s Darjeeling district committee, said: “The 15 councillors will meet the chief minister under the leadership of north Bengal development minister Gautam Deb.”

They will also meet Trinamul all-India secretary general Mukul Roy, state president Subrata Bakshi and industries minister Partha Chatterjee. “The main objective is to inform them about the lackadaisical attitude of Siliguri mayor and poor functioning of the board. We will seek guidelines for our role,” Pal said.

Jivan Majumdar, general secretary of the Darjeeling district Congress, said: “Despite being a partner to the board and holding major MIC posts they are busy with blame game.”
