Young Physiques triumph

Imphal, Dec. 4: Young Physiques Union defeated Lamka Sporting Club 3-2 via tiebreaker in the league round match of the 56th Sir Churachand Singh Memorial Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung in Imphal today.

Young Physiques and Lamka were locked 0-0 at the end of play.

For Young Physiques, S. Sanjay, S. Chaoba and N. Dhananjoy scored in the penalty kickout.

In the second match, Citizensí Club defeated Sena Athletics Organisation 5-1.

East Zone cricket: Jharkhand emerged champions in the East Zone cricket tournament for the differently abled, which concluded today at the Thangmeiband Athletics Union ground, defeating Bihar by six wickets.

The Best Batsman award went to Dharamvir of Jharkhand and the Best All-Rounder award to Babban of Jharkhand.

The Best Bowler award was bagged by Kanchan of Bihar while Manipurís Emocha won the Best Fielder award.
