Identity proof

Bhubaneswar, Nov. 29: The Union ministry of railways has decided to extend the condition of carrying original identity proofs during travel on reserved tickets issued through the passenger reservation system from December 1.

The railways ministry has also decided to expand the list of prescribed proofs of identity. Apart from passport, PAN card, election photo identity card and driving licence, photo identity cards having serial numbers issued by public sector undertakings of state/central government, district administrations, municipal and panchayat bodies will also be accepted as valid identity proofs from December 1.
