Varsity exams
Nov. 29: Gauhati University will conduct the first, third and fifth semester examinations of the Bachelor of mass communication and BSc in Information Technology courses from the middle of December. The last date for submission of forms and fees for these examinations is November 30.
Play staged
The Guwahati Shilpa Kanan on Thursday staged a play, Ashray, at Rabindra Bhawan. The play was directed by Gunakar Dev Goswami.
Lecture
The department of physics of Gauhati University conducted the P.C. Mahanta Memorial Lecture on its premises at Jalukbari on Thursday.
Games team
A team of 20 differently abled children will leave for Bhopal on Friday to participate in the national-level special Olympics that will begin on December 3. The team will be representing Assam at the event.
Truck looted
A group of unidentified men stole iron bars from a Nagaon-bound truck after attacking the driver on NH37 near Basistha Chariali late Wednesday night. A case has been registered in this connection at Basistha police station.
Police event
Assam police will organise a function at Sarusajai main stadium on Friday to mark the completion of 150 years of policing in India. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi will attend the function.
Bike tour
Ecotourism Society of Northeast, an NGO, will organise a bike and photography tour from Chandrapur to Pobitora via Hatishila and Mayong on December 2.
