Nightclub assault
A youth was arrested from a Park Street nightclub late on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a woman. Police sources said Indrajeet Singh was with a group of people and got into an altercation with another group that included the woman. He was granted bail at Park Street police station.
Gold chain snatched
A youth snatched a gold chain from a woman on a bus on AJC Bose Road near Mullickbazaar on Thursday. Champa Das, a resident of Nimta, was seated in front of the rear door of the bus when the youth, standing on the footboard, snatched the chain and jumped off the vehicle around 8.45pm.
Snatchers held
Dhananjoy Mondal, 28, and Nilanjan Haldar, 29, were arrested on Thursday for allegedly snatching a gold chain from a 60-year-old woman in Bansdroni last week.
Heroin seized
Ashok Das, 40, a resident of Chetla, was arrested late on Wednesday in Alipore and 30 gram of heroin seized from him.
Temple theft
Jewellery and cash worth Rs 3 lakh were stolen from a temple in Barasat on Thursday. Police said the priest found the temple doors broken and the donation box gone at 7am.
