Chhapra, Nov. 28: The social welfare department has decided to open schools for special children and the initiative will start with three institutions next week.
Minister Parveen Amanullah told The Telegraph over phone: “Schools will be opened for special children aged between five and 18 years. Schools will be inaugurated in Patna, Darbhanga and Gaya on December 3. Each of the schools would have a capacity for 50 students.”
The institutions would be run by non-government organisations and the state government has signed memorandums of understanding.
This financial year, three more schools would be opened in Bhagalpur, Aurangabad and Purnea, said Amanullah, adding that other districts would be covered in time.
