THE INN THING: Tolly actors Srabanti and Hiran (left) and former Maidan great Subrata Bhattacherjee checked into Metropolis Inn on Friday! They were there to inaugurate the 9,000sq ft inn which has 27 double-bed rooms, and offers facilities like mini-gym and pick-up-and-drop.

“We cater to the middle- and upper-middle class and our main focus is people employed in the IT sector,” said proprietor Sailendra Nath Ghosh, who is also the managing director of Dacca Oushadhalay Pvt Ltd.

Charges: A one-night double occupancy stay costs Rs 2,200 and for individuals it’s Rs 100 less. There is also a 40-seater multi-cuisine restaurant (open to outsiders) in the inn at B47 Metropolitan Co-operative Housing Society, Sector B, EM Bypass.

Christmas fun begins: The baby-faced Chennai Super Kings star Parthiv Patel (right) joined Tolly actress Sonali Chowdhury and composer Jeet Gannguli at the cake-mixing do at Peerless Inn. “We soak the choicest of dry fruits and nuts in wine. After a few weeks we will prepare plum cakes,” said Prasun Banerjee, manager, F&B, Peerless Inn. Cakes and other Christmas goodies will be available at the Tea Lounge from December 22. Maachh, mishti and a lot more: If you are a foodie and a Club Solitaire member, then get ready for a month-long gastronomic journey. In the Club Solitaire Food Festival, which started on November 23 and continues till December 20, members can avail a flat 20 per cent discount (on showing their membership card) if they dine at any of the 18 selected outlets, like Krazy Kebab (Park Circus), Steak Factory (New Alipore), Krystal Chopstick (Hindustan Park), On Track (Park Street), Blue Nile and Massekah (City Centre, New Town), Daawat-e-Shiraz (Mullickbazaar), Raajbarir Khawa (Santoshpur), Aaheli (Dharmatala and Axis Mall) and Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor (all branches).

Go beyond maachh and mishti by participating in a lucky draw. You could be among the lucky 40 couples who will attend a cocktail party with the cast and crew of the forthcoming Bengali movie, Maach Mishti & More. Another 50 winners will end up getting a free haircut at Blush!
