Curfew lifted in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar, Nov 26: The district administration today lifted curfew imposed in Kokrajhar, but pillion riding and wearing full mask helmets is still banned.

The Bodoland Peoples Progressive Front (BPPF) asked the government to maintain maximum restraint while conducting searches for illegal arms, saying it should not mix up common people with militants. A similar concern was voiced when the newly-formed National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB), led by I.K. Songbijit, accused security forces of violating human rights against families of its members and the people.
