Garo hills policeman released

Shillong, Nov. 25: A Meghalaya police official was released by Border Guards Ban-gladesh (BGB) today after being arrested last evening for straying into the neighbouring country’s territory.

Sub-inspector B.R. Sangma of Rongara police station under South Garo Hills, was arrested by BGB personnel around 4.30pm yesterday after he crossed the border while investigating a cattle theft case.

Sangma was, however, released at 1pm today following a flag meeting between BGB and the BSF.
