Victory for army boys
Guwahati, Nov. 25: Army Public School, Shillong edged past Assam Rifles Public School, Shillong 4-3 via tie-breaker to clinch the East Zone CBSE (Cluster I) football championship hosted by South Point School at SAI playground here yesterday. The two teams will now proceed to DAV School, Panipat, where teams from nearly 25 CBSE schools from the country and overseas will vie for top honours at the CBSE National Games from December 12 to 17.
Fifa course
A six-day Fifa member associations’ coaching course for AFC-licenced coaches got under way at Nehru Stadium here today. Altogether 30 coaches from the Northeast, including 20 from Assam, are taking part in the camp to be conducted by Fifa expert Pieter Abraham Hamberg of The Netherlands.
