Moga nets in 14 seconds

Pune: Pune FC Sudanese striker James Moga on Saturday scored the fastest goal in I-League history as his side held United Sikkim FC to a 2-2 draw in a seventh round match here.

Moga’s strike came in 14 seconds after Gurjinder Singh fed him with a beautiful pass. But their early celebrations were doused when United Sikkim scored twice within two minutes to take a 2-1 lead before half-time.

D. Attivi scored in the 26th minute and Safar Sardar made it 2-1 in the next minute. Moga scored the equaliser in the 68th minute.

The hosts, however, had themselves to blame for not forcing a win after striker Jeje Lalpekhlua wasted a spot-kick in the second half.

In another match at Margao, Joaquim Abranches’ late strike helped Dempo SC beat Air India and a brilliant goal from Akram Moghrabi in injury time helped Churchill Brothers earn full points against hosts Lajong FC.
