Gun glare
New Delhi, Nov. 21: The Supreme Court today asked the Union home ministry to explain by December 5 if security agencies, especially those run privately, could use firearms freely, the comments coming in the wake of Saturday’s shootout in which liquor baron Ponty Chaddha and his brother Hardeep died.
The court asked the ministry about the legal regulatory framework that governs the agencies and the rules for issuing them gun licences.
