NE TV rout Sentinel in opener

Guwahati, Nov. 20: NE TV routed The Sentinel by five wickets in the inaugural match of the Raishmodi Nunisa inter-media six-a-side cricket tournament of the 4th North East Sports Festival that got under way at Nehru Stadium here today.

In the other matches of the day, Doordarshan thrashed Ramdhenu by five wickets, Niyamiya Barta beat The Telegraph by four wickets, Asomiya Pratidin crushed Prime News by five wickets, Gana Adhikar toyed with Sakalbela for a five-wicket win, NewsLive got the better of hosts Assam Sports Journalists Association by four wickets, Prag News defeated Asam Bani by five wickets and News Time Assam overcame Assam Tribune by 19 runs.

In a second round match, DY365 edged past Niyamiya Barta by eight runs.

The tournament, participated by 22 teams, was inaugurated by Assam Cricket Association secretary Bikash Baruah. He appreciated the efforts of the association to provide a week of sporting entertainment to the mediapersons of the region.
