Three men, including a Zambian, were arrested for credit card cloning and attempting to dupe banks by using the fake cards. “Two of the accused are from Calcutta. They were caught using forged credit cards to buy some goods. The shopkeeper alerted the police. The duo has confessed to their crime,” said joint commissioner (crime) Pallab Kanti Ghosh.
The two have been identified as Zuber Hussain and Naushad Ali Khan — residents of Topsia and the New Market area, respectively.
Zambian Gabriel Martin was picked up from a New Market police station following an interrogation of the two. “The passport Martin produced was forged. His visa had lapsed six months ago,” the police said.
Martin had purchased the raw material for making the cards from Bangalore.
