Deficit target
New Delhi, Nov. 19: The government will make all efforts to restrict fiscal deficit to 5.3 per cent of GDP for this fiscal, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council chairman C. Rangarajan said today. “I think our attempt will be to see that we remain as close as possible to the revised fiscal deficit that has been indicated by the finance ministry. All efforts will be made to get to that number,” he said.
Mutual fund
Mumbai, Nov. 19: Sebi has allowed mutual fund houses to levy an amount of brokerage and transaction costs on investors for trades. Brokerage and transaction costs will have a ceiling of 0.12 per cent for cash market transactions and 0.05 per cent for derivatives dealings.
SKS stake
Mumbai, Nov. 19: Foreign investors have hiked their stake in SKS Microfinance to an all-time high of 31.77 per cent in the September quarter — from a record low of 8.33 per cent in the preceding three-month period.
DRL drug
Mumbai, Nov. 19: Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (DRL) has launched Sildenafil tablets, a bioequivalent generic version of Revatio (Sildenafil), in the US. The tablet is a variation of Viagra.
