Malda, Nov. 16: Malda Congress president Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury today said late A.B.A. Ghani Khan Choudhury’s son would be pitted against party MLA Krishnendu Chowdhury, a “traitor like Mir Jafar” who is set to join Trinamul.
“Krishnendu is nothing but a traitor like Mir Jafar. We will teach him a lesson if he runs for the by-election in Englishbazar. We will pit Simon (Simon Hyat Khan Choudhury) against him. We will not allow Trinamul an inch of our turf,” Abu Hasem said.
He accused Krishnendu for trying to create fissures in the Khan Choudhury family. “He will not succeed. The Congress will give a fitting reply to him by fielding Barkatda’s heir,” Abu Hasem said.
Krishnendu, also the chairman of the Englishbazar municipality, said: “I am joining Trinamul to usher in development. Mamata Banerjee will give me a place in her party and the government.”
