Haldia recce

Calcutta, Nov. 16: A team of three Delhi officials are expected to visit Haldia tomorrow to take stock of the situation after the pullout of Haldia Bulk Terminals.

The team comprises A. Janardhana Rao, managing director of Indian Ports Association and former Kandla Port chief; Sambit Tripathy, director in the ministry of shipping; and Anuj Agarwal, an official of the ministry.

Firing protest

Calcutta: Youth Congress chief Mausam Noor has said a law-violation programme will be held at Metro Channel on November 21 to protest the Tehatta firing. The authorities have refused permission.

Suicide finger

Chinsurah: An INTTUC worker hanged himself from a tree in Hooghly and a note found in his shirt pocket accused two persons of threatening him over land.
