The Barman Brothers performed at a Durga puja programme at Labony Estate on Panchami. The brothers, Madhusudan and Gopal, played in jugalbandi on the khol and the tabla a piece titled Journey of Rhythm.
Watching them from among the audience were the dhakis of Labony puja, who themselves are a highlight of the puja’s festivities. “We leave our families in our villages and come to perform here every year, only to witness how everyone appreciates our performance,” smiled Sanjay Das, a dhaki.
