Road mishap
Jorhat, Nov. 14: Anuradha Bordoloi, 48, a teacher of Central College here, died on the spot when the car she was driving hit a tree along NH 37 near Dergaon this morning. She was returning after dropping her son at Delhi Public School, Numaligarh. She hails from No. 1 Sonarigaon.

Dibrugarh: The officer in-charge of Barbaruah police station, Dibyajyoti Dutta, has been transferred following public protest against the death of a person in police firing on Tuesday. People blocked NH 37 at Barbaruah on Wednesday demanding punishment of the police personnel involved in the firing.
Shops gutted
Dhubri: Four shops were gutted and goods worth several lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes in a fire that broke out at Tappatary in Bongaigaon district on Tuesday.

Dhubri: About 300 students of Rokakhata Higher Secondary School staged a road blockade on Wednesday in the Purani Bazar area demanding opening of schools which are being occupied by riot-hit people of BTAD since July.
