Faculty beat Dantin
- Kunal Sarma awarded Man of the Match for quickfire 50

Guwahati, Nov 14: Faculty High School registered a four-wicket win against Dantin Academy in their last league match of the 3rd Sitaram Agarwala under-17 inter-school cricket tournament at Judges Field here today.

In a keen contest, Dantin Academy boys opted to bat first and were all out posting a challenging total of 236 in 37 overs.

Faculty boys, however, achieved the target scoring 240 for six in 34 overs.

Mridunil Kashyap scored a brilliant 92 of 70 balls to be the topscorer for Faculty. His knock was laced with 14 hits to the ropes and two towering sixes.

Kunal Sarma, however, stole the show, scoring a quickfire 50 after having hauled seven for 51 to be later adjudged Man of the Match. His half-century, facing only 34 balls, comprised eight fours and a six.

Besides, Harsh Choraria (26, 4x2) and Digprantar Thakuria (21, 4x2) were the other notable scorers for the side.

Avanish Shukla and Imran Khan of Dantin Academy bagged two wickets each, giving away 39 and 67 runs respectively.

Earlier, Avinash Srivastava topscored for Dantin Academy with a patient 60 (4x6) and Sourav Dewra chipped in with 48 (4x6, 6x1). Imran Khan also contributed 28 (4x3).

Apart from Kunal Sarma, Chiranjib Bora picked up a wicket for 30 runs in favour of Faculty.

Fairyland High School will play Modern English School tomorrow ad the winners will lock horns with Delhi Public School in the final on Friday.
