- Coffee meets couture on Barista’s winter menu
Dazzling Cinnamon and Honey Caffé and (right) Piccante Chicken Sandwich

Get ready for an invigorating caffeine hit to kick-start your day with Barista’s Milano Collezioni. “Barista’s winter theme, Milano Collezioni, has been conceptualised by designer Rina Dhaka and is based on the most fashionable city on earth — Milan,” says Nilanjan Bhattacharya, COO, India and Saarc, Barista Lavazza.

Find on the menu Italian options like paninos and calzones. Besides a better choice of breads for sandwiches — ciabatta oat, oat panini, white, brown and focaccia — the fillings have an Italian touch. The top picks are Veggie Crema Tramezzino with deseeded tomato, cucumber coins, eggless mayonnaise and cheese, and Piccante Cottage Cheese, packed with spiced and seasoned cottage cheese with eggless mayonnaise and diced green pepper.

The sip story continues with Vintage Butter Rum Caffé, Haute Hazelnut Caffé, Posh Irish Caffé, Dazzling Cinnamon Honey Caffé and a lot of lattes. “The Indian palate prefers coffee with milk, as opposed to black coffees,” adds Bhattacharya. That explains the list of frothy milky lattes, including Bespoke Caffé Chai Latte, Flamboyant Chai Latte and the creamy Dazzling Cinnamon Honey Caffé.

The healthy additions to the breakfast menu are Quaker Oats Porridge and Quaker Oats Home-style Masala.

With Calcutta contributing approximately 10 per cent to the revenue pie, the chain (with 180 cafes across India) is looking to expand here but hasn’t “finalised a location yet”.
