Eastern Sporting annex title

Imphal, Nov. 13: Eastern Sporting Union clinched the championís title in the Baby Suchitra Khuraijam Memorial Junior Girls Football Tournament which concluded at Khuman Lampak main stadium today.

The Union won all three league round matches and bagged nine points. In the final league round match today the Union defeated Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club by 2-0 goals.

Th. Purnima scored both the goals in the fourth and 55th minutes. Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club emerged runners-up. The Club won two matches out of three and secured six points.

In the other match today, Northern Iril Valley Sports Organisation defeated Andro Mahila Mandal 4-0. K. Pinky pushed in the first goal in the 20th minute while S. Ranjana scored three other goals in the 22nd, 43rd and 48th minutes.

Badminton: Andhra Pradesh won the championís title in the girlsí team final for the Sati Qureshi Cup in the 37th junior national badminton championship at Khuman Lampak sports complex in Imphal city today.

Andhra Pradesh eves defeated West Bengal by 2-1 games. In the boysí team event for the Narang Cup Air India emerged champions by defeating Chattisgarh 2-1.
