Aadesh Chakraborty fashions Modern win

Guwahati, Nov. 8: Modern English School handed an eight-wicket defeat to South Point School in their group league match of the 3rd Sitaram Agarwala inter-school (under-17) cricket tournament at Judges Field here today.

South Point, electing to bat, faced the dew-on-the-grass woe like Faculty School yesterday, to be bowled out for a paltry 84 in 25.3 overs.

In reply, Modern School achieved the modest target losing only two wickets in 9.4 overs.

Subham Dutta (21, 4x2) and Abhijit Roy (16, 4x2) were the only notable scorers for South Point.

Gaurab Kumar of Modern scalped three wickets for 26 runs while Bishal Sinha, Subham Tarafdar and Mrinmoy Baishya picked up two apiece giving away nine, 15 and 16 runs respectively.

For Modern School, Aadesh Chakraborty remained unbeaten on 50 (4x8, 6x1) to be later adjudged Man of the Match.

Delhi Public School play Ulubari Higher Secondary School in a group league encounter tomorrow.
