Ranchi deputy commissioner (DC) Vinay Kumar Choubey has asked the civic guardian to clean up the capital, with a fortnight to go for the 13th Statehood Day of Jharkhand.
As part of the campaign, Choubey on Wednesday directed officials of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) to give the dividers of Main Road a fresh coat of paint and clean up the city’s prominent intersections as well as statues installed in various places.
During a meeting at the DC’s office, the DC also asked the civic body to repair defunct traffic signals and make sure signboards displaying traffic rules across the city were in order.
This year’s foundation day on November 15 is notably themed on youth and skill development.
Besides stressing on improving the civic and traffic scenario in Ranchi, the meeting also focused on lighting arrangements to deck up government buildings, offices and banks on the occasion.
“We will also organise a spectacular laser light and sound show based on the theme of youth and skill development,” Choubey said.
According to officials, various stalls of state government departments will be put up outside Birsa Munda stadium in Morabadi — the venue for the statehood day celebrations.
