JUST SPLASH

Hold your breath, let your eyes roll, yell and go whoosh! For all Patnaites, who love splashing and playing pranks with your buddies in a pool, there is good news. Funtasia Island, the first-of-its-kind water park, has opened its gates on outskirts of the city recently so that you can enjoy with your loved ones. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this thrilling water park is located at Sampatchak on the Gaya bypass. A 7km jaunty drive from the city will take you to a water world sprawling on eight acres. Replete with exciting rides, you can prance around without a care basking in the aquatic delights. With an entry fee of Rs 300 you can explore a galore of rides such as enthralling water chutes, jets, showers and coasters.

Girls just wanna have fun

If all you girls want to let your hair down, gossip endlessly and splash in cool waters then Funtasia Island is the place for you. Organise kitty parties, nibble on scrumptious delicacies or simply sit under the shades near the pool to chat up with your friends in breath-taking park. In addition to these attractions, there are women attendants to assist you if need some help getting around the park. ďAs we have these female attendants here, we donít need to feel unsafe with our kids and belongings. So, we donít have to tag along our husbands here. My sister and I spend hours here during the weekend,Ē said Bela Agarwal, a home-maker. Keeping in mind the privacy of ladies, the park has separate pools for men and women.

Babyís day out

The kids are sure to have maximum fun and frolic here. Bathing is what they loathe most at home and find ways to give it a miss. However, things will be different here, as you would see you little ones splattering and plunging in water for hours with you finding it difficult to pull them out. With cartoons shower, water see-saw, mushroom shaped shower and sprinkle shower children are spoilt for choice. The attractive fluorescent coloured Water Island is a fantasy world filled with gigantic waterslides, kids-friendly pools and swim-up soda bars. There are also water cannons, whirlpools and lazy river journeys. There are two interactive fountains designed with lights and jets in a grid pattern emitting spurts of four-feet high water. While your kids play and enjoy these water rides, you can relish the parkís sunny weather and beautiful environs.

Time to get jiggy

Have been craving to dance in the rain just like Bollywood stars without being thought of as someone crazy? Well, your wish is sure to be granted on the rain dance platform in the park. Spread over a large area with the capacity to accommodate 50 people at a time, one can groove to the hottest tracks of the season blaring out of sound boxes. For this disco platform under the rain, teenagers are thronging here in large numbers.

Oh boys

For the boys, the 20-ft-high water slider is hit as they can be seen skating down screaming their lungs out. However, the gang of boys are not allowed to take pictures. Photography is only allowed for girlsí groups or for families. And boys avoid being hanky-panky with women around, as you might just get into trouble. Otherwise just chillax and swim your blues away.
