Imphal, Oct. 30: Konthoujam Kendra Youth Development Association (KKYDA), Awang Jiri beat SAI RC 2-1 in the 1st round match today in Imphal West District 2nd Division Football League at Youth Welfare Club ground, Malom.
Lansinpao (20th minute), Bolen (59th minute) scored for KKYDA and Siluni (36th minute) scored for SAI RC.
Bijen of KKYDA , Sanatomba and Bike of SAI were shown yellow cards.
Southern Imphal Cultural Organisation ( SICO ) Lourembam Leikai beat United Pioneers Club (UPC) 5-1 in the 2nd ground match.
Milankumar (17th minute),Th Bidyananda (24th minute), L. Naocha (26th minute), Sanajaoba (57th minute) and Karnajit (61st minute) scored for SICO, while the lone goal of UPC was scored by Nelson in the 38th minute.
Swimming glory: Swimmers representing Jorhat Swimming Society grabbed two gold medals at the 9th Masters’ Swimming Championship which concluded in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh today.
Secretary of JSS Samiran Bordoloi said this today. While Mukul Gogoi won gold in 50-metre backstroke, Jayprakash Bora grabbed gold in 50-metre backstroke in the respective age groups.
Mukul also won silver in 50-metre butterfly and another swimmer, Moon Padon, won two bronze in 100-metre free style and 50-metre backstroke respectively. Konika Boro, a woman swimmer, won a bronze medal in 50-metre free style.
