Calcutta, Oct. 26: West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited has said it penalised 3,000 Durga puja committees in the districts for allegedly drawing power illegally at their pandals.
The company has claimed Rs 40 lakh from the committees, a spokesperson said.
Inspections to detect illegal power tapping will be done on Kali Puja and Jagaddhatri Puja.
