Traffic curbs for pujas in place

The wheels of Jamshedpur will keep turning this Durga Puja, with the traffic police drawing up an elaborate plan to ensure smooth movement of vehicles on the main thoroughfares. The Telegraph takes stock

No-entry timing

Heavy vehicles, including buses, will not be allowed to enter the city between noon and 7am from October 20-24. Entry of vehicles through Adityapur Toll Bridge will be barred from 4pm till 7am.

Parking

Authorities have marked five parking spaces — near Thakur Pyara Singh High School at Kasidih, Subernarekha burning ghat, Bhuiyandih gas godown, RD Tata Technical Education Centre and 407 mini-bus stand in Golmuri — to aid pandal-hoppers.

Fines

Those found riding two-wheelers without helmets will be fined between Rs 100 and 270, with the cash rap for speeding being set at Rs 2,000. The penalty for using pressure horns and tinted windows will be Rs 1,000.

New routes

Vehicles going from Baridih and Sidhgora towards Mango will be diverted through Kumharpara and Baradwari Telephone Exchange Road. Those going from Sakchi and Mango towards Baridih and Sidhgora will have to pass through Bhuiyandih.
