Several Calcutta designers will showcase at the country’s premium bridal fiesta Bridal Asia 2012 at New Delhi’s Hotel Ashok on October 20-22. Led by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the list is a mix of established and upcoming labels — Ekru, Eshaani Jayaswal, Jaya Misra, Nupur Kanoi, Talat Kazmi, Peppermint Diva, Sejal Kanoi, Samsara Homes, Siltouch, Suman Nathwani, Vasundhara Mantri and Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons — that will show clothes, jewellery and other accessories. “Calcutta is a very important centre for us. The city is undoubtedly the fashion capital of the country with some of the top fashion houses based out of there,” said Divya Gurwara, CEO of Bridal Asia.

Lisa Ray’s wedding sari

The stunning LISA RAY will marry her American fiance Jason Dehni today in California in an off-white shaded georgette sari with gota patti detailing, created by Satya Paul. The edge of the sari is done up with sequins and the net blouse has a sexy sweetheart neckline (see sketch).
