Calcutta: The Rest of the World team led by Ryder Cup star, Peter Hanson, defeated the Hero Indian team 3-1 in the Skills Challenge which marked the start of the week of the Hero Indian Open.
The Rest of the World team comprising Hanson, European Masters winner Richie Ramsay and defending Hero Indian Open champion David Gleeson of Australia lost the first skill which is ‘driving’, but won the next three, ‘The Approach Shot’, ‘Bunker Shot’ and ‘Long Putt’.
The Indian team comprised of Shiv Kapur, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Anirban Lahiri.
The highlight of the evening was the Bunker Shot, where Gleeson, Hanson and Kapur holed their respective shots and Lahiri missed by a whisker.
The winning team won Rs. 3.3 lakhs and the losing team got Rs. 1.1 lakhs.
