A cabbie was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a passenger near Dum Dum station late on Monday.
The cabbie, too, has lodged a complaint of assault against the passenger, for whom police have launched a search.
Raja Karmakar had hailed a taxi from Mani Square around 10.15pm on Monday and asked the driver, Rakesh Singh, to take him to Dum Dum station. On reaching, Karmakar reportedly wanted Singh to go a little further, which he refused. The two came to blows over this, said police. Karmakar lodged a complaint against Singh on Tuesday. Singh lodged a counter-complaint alleging Karmakar had struck the first blow.
“We are looking for Karmakar,” said an officer.
