Langsning play Rifles in final

Nagaon, Oct. 15: Langsning Sports Club, Shillong will meet Assam Rifles, Tezpur in the final of the 64th Independence Day Cup all-India invitation football tournament at Nurul Amin Stadium here tomorrow.

It will be the second appearance for the Shillong outfit in the final after finishing runners-up last year while Assam Rifles are three-time champions lifting the trophy in 1981, 1988 and 2010.

Langsning will be banking on their three foreigners skipper Daniel B. Ayeni, Michael O. Ayeni and Yinka J. Sunday Ayeni under floodlights in Nagaon.

Danial was instrumental with a hattrick in their quarter-final victory against Green Valley SC on Wednesday.
