Langsning play Rifles in final

Nagaon, Oct. 15: Langsning Sports Club, Shillong will meet Assam Rifles, Tezpur in the final of the 64th Independence Day Cup all-India invitation football tournament at Nurul Amin Stadium here tomorrow.

It will be the second appearance for the Shillong outfit in the final after finishing runners-up last year while Assam Rifles are three-time champions lifting the trophy in 1981, 1988 and 2010.

Langsning will be banking on their three foreigners — skipper Daniel B. Ayeni, Michael O. Ayeni and Yinka J. Sunday Ayeni — under floodlights in Nagaon.

Danial was instrumental with a hattrick in their quarter-final victory against Green Valley SC on Wednesday.
