Two youths in their late-20s were arrested from the Hazra crossing in south Calcutta on Monday for allegedly duping people by promising them government jobs for money.
After receiving a complaint from a victim, police laid a trap for Rathindranath Das and Sumit Naskar and picked them up while they were allegedly receiving money.
Sanjib Ghosh had lodged a police complaint that Das and Naskar had promised to give him a job in Metro Railway if he paid them Rs 1 lakh. Police said the duo had duped at least six persons in six months.
Cars seized: Police have seized three cars from the Salt Lake EE Block house of CMDA Group D staff Haradhan Roy, who had been arrested with two other CMDA employees in connection with a land scam.
