Siliguri, Oct. 12: North Bengal development minister Gautam Deb today said the “best possible communication infrastructure” would be given to entrepreneurs intending to invest in the region.
“The NHAI will build a four-lane stretch from Ghoshpukur (near Bagdogra) to the Assam border. They have already been handed over land required to construct the corridor for a 69km-stretch. They need land for another 90km. We are confident that it would be acquired peacefully,” Deb said at an event organised by the north Bengal zonal council of the CII.
Deb, who is also the chairman of the NBSTC, said there were plans to improve government transport services in the region. “We will invite entrepreneurs to invest in the NBSTC and run buses jointly with the corporation. We will soon introduce a single-window system to help the investors.”
