Daughter stuck in the States during Puja? Son won’t get leave from his Mumbai multinational company? No sweat, just text or email them this URL — www.puja.dhanbadonline.com.
October 16 or 17 onwards, Dhanbad residents and the NRD — non-resident Dhanbadites if you wish — can click on Puja revelry in their hometown no matter whether they are in Manhattan or Munger. It is all thanks to Kshitiz Technocraft Pvt Ltd, which has created this exclusive Durga Puja sub-domain on its website www.dhanbadonline.com.
On live darshan, Kshitiz Technocraft director Nawneet Naman said visitors could enjoy the show between October 21 and 24 of 10 Dhanbad Pujas, among which are pandals at Hari Mandir, Steel Gate, Jharkhand Maidan, Manaitand, Tetullah, DAV School Dari Muhalla, Nagar Nigam and Bhuli B Block.
Live streaming of puja revelry isn’t just meant for those outside Dhanbad. If pandal-hopping gets tiring due to bad traffic, a tyre puncture or high heels, just log on the website to catch the action. “Cameras will be set up for live darshan. We’ll also upload videos for later viewing,” said Naman.
Visitors can also get to know rare historical nuggets behind some of the oldest celebrations — Jharia Rajbari, Katras Rajbari and Nawagarh Estate that are centuries old. They can also check out little-known facts of newer Pujas of Mishra Mela, Mukherjee Mela, Dasher Mela and Chotir Mela as well as traditional celebrations — Hari Mandir in Dhanbad’s Hirapur, Lilori Sthan in Katras, Shakti Mandir in Dhanbad, Dukhharni Dham and Maa Mangla Chandi Puja in Jharia, Kalyaneshwari temples in Maithon and Chasnala.
Online visitors can vote till October 30 for best pandal, pratima, lighting and décor. They can also choose which, in their opinion, is the district’s best Puja management and best Puja. Winners will be declared in November. Visitors can take part in a Puja photography contest, with former director of DGMS and acclaimed lensman Mukesh Srivastava picking the best entries.
Will you pandal-hop on your laptop this Durga Puja?
