Sports secretary felicitated

Imphal, Oct. 11: Newly-inducted parliamentary secretary for sports M. Prithiviraj was felicitated by Presto Wonders, Imphal branch and Celebrity Media Group, Manipur, at Olympic Bhavan at Khuman Lampak sports complex this evening.

Prithiviraj said he was hopeful of the prospects of sports in Manipur, particularly after India’s success at the London Olympics.

“In the Beijing Olympics, we won three medals and in the London Olympics we got six,” he said.

Prithiviraj warned that drastic changes cannot be made but collective thought was needed for progress.

Youth affairs and sports director H. Deelep Singh also attended the felicitation-cum-interaction programme.
