Nagaon, Oct. 11: Defending champions 119 Territorial Army entered the final of the 3rd KHEP Neepco Kopili Cup football tournament, defeating Dokmoka Town Club, Karbi Anglong 1-0 in the last semi-final at Garampani Sports Association, Umrangsu ground, today.
The match was a goalless draw in the first half. Dokmoka goalkeeper Amit Narjery skilfully foiled Territorial Army midfielder Premananda Singh’s two attempts to score.
In the 46th minute, Territorial Army striker H.T. Sanga’s beautiful free kick brought the first goal.
Football heavyweight Morning Star defeated Reunion Society 11-0 in the first semi-final yesterday.
