“I had a lot of chaat and it was so delicious and hatke! Kurkure with bhel, Papdi Chaat, ghugni and more... it was very innovative,” said actress Koneenica Banerjee, who visited four chaat shops at Durgapur’s City Centre and Junction Mall on October 6. “All the chaatwallahs were enthusiastic about this initiative and I especially loved what we were served at the second stop (by Sudip Kumar Khan),” she said. Koneenica also handed over a DVD player to Anand Dubey and a cell phone to Sudip Kumar Khan (both at City Centre) who got the highest number of weekly votes at the Kurkure Chaat Khao Helicopter-e Jao contest in Durgapur.

While Konee was busy bingeing in Durgapur, TV star Ritabhari Chakraborty made the rounds of chaat stalls in Siliguri. She sampled the Kurkure-topped chaat at P.C. Mitra bus stand, Baghajatin Park and Big Bazaar. “It was so much fun to go all the way to Siliguri just to feast on chaat! The chaatwallahs add so much spice to our lives and the fact that I could be a part of an event like this, which motivates them and helps them innovate, made me happy,” said Ritabhari, who gave away a DVD player to Santosh Mahato at P.C. Mitra bus stand and a cell phone to Arun Saha at Big Bazaar.
