Calcutta: A confident Pailan Arrows will look to carry on the winning momentum when they take on Durand Cup champions Air India in a second round I-League match at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Thursday.
Arrows will be bolstered by the arrival of their Australian coach Arthur Papas. They had a woeful season last year, having only won two I-League matches. Under Papas, the young side have shown a lot of maturity.
They started the season on a positive note and are yet to lose a match since the Durand Cup.
The young strikers like Holicharan Narzary and Alwyn George have revelled under the coach’s guidance. They put up a spirited display and have caused trouble for the opponent defenders. And Arrows will want the strikers to fire on Thursday as well.
Speaking after the practice session on Wednesday, assistant coach Aaron Simon said: “We are in good form. But it will be a fresh challenge tomorrow.”
