Imphal, Oct. 8: North Eastern Reorganisation Cultural Association blanked Tiddim Road Athletic Union by three goals in the 7th Manipur State League 2012 at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
The win helped North Eastern collect 17 points while Tiddim Road Athletic Union are reeling with 14 points after eight matches in the league.
The soggy outfield proved to be a spoilsport as the first half went goaless but playing well-angled lofted shots, North Eastern found the net in the 68th minute with Kh. Sanjoy Singh scoring the first goal. Tiddim Road Athletic Union appeared clueless in the match. North Eastern consolidated in the 82nd minute with Mahesh Rai booting home a goal. Kh. Sanjoy Singh wrapped up with the winning goal during injury time.
North Eastern player L. Chandramani as well as G. Anthony Kabui and Golmei Mariamdun of Tiddim Road were shown yellow cards in the match.
In another match, Manipur Police Sports Club beat North Imphal Sporting Association (NISA) by 2-1 goals to stay on top of the league with 19 points while NISA have 10 points.
NISA got an early break in the 12th minute when Th. Borish Singh scored. Golmei fetched the equaliser in the 58th minute and I. Nilakumar Singh got the winning goal in the 59th minute for the win. NISA player Th. Ngouba Singh was booked with a yellow card in the match.
