United SC wary of Air India

Calcutta: Prayag United SC will look to put behind the disappointment of the Federation Cup and start their I-League campaign on a positive note as they face Air India, in the opening round, on Sunday.

Having assembled a big-budget squad this season, United SC were expected to perform well in the Federation Cup. But they failed to get past the quarter final league stage.

Coach Sanjoy Sen admitted that his side made some mistakes. He, however, hopes that the players will perform to their potential in the I-League.

“We did commit some mistakes in the Federation Cup… But the boys have learnt from them. We’ve done a lot of introspection and we are looking to make a fresh start.”

Asked about their opponents, Sen said: “The first match of any tournament is difficult… Moreover, we know very little about the opponents. They can create an upset. So, we have to be careful.
